“Talk to the PCC/Leadership about how you might, as a Church, improve your relationship creation. Do you recycle? Do you promote lift shares? What other things might you be able to do as a Church – just one! But every little helps. Thinking about being church wherever you are, what do you do to honour God in creation?
We are currently in parish vacancy with only one church warden, it wasn’t easy to arrange a discussion to look at how, as a church, we could improve our relationship with creation. I am a PCC member and so have, therefore, reflected on things that I am aware of that occur already within parish life that could be identified as supporting the theory of church having a good relationship with creation.
Some things that already take place include recycling, great attention is given to this particularly from a project called Grace Kitchen that provides food packages, a warm space and soup lunch on a weekly basis. The fresh food that is distributed is donated from local supermarkets within the town to reduce the risk of waste. Anything not used in that session is kept for the drop in café the following day (also a warm space and outreach ministry). Finally, food that is not used at either of those sessions is kept for the primary age kids club later the same day. This is a way that the church is committed to reducing food waste whilst feeding the hungry as Jesus instructed. (Matt 25:35 ‘for I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave e something to drink…’)
We are also planning to hold joint services once a month which will reduce the energy usage of two church buildings. On reflection, the main reason for this was to promote cross parish unity between the two churches within our parish, but this will also reduce energy usage in two church buildings.

Thank you for sharing what is happening in your church. I find this really encouraging, when there is so little going on in my own at the moment. Your post has reminded me to celebrate the good, and hope that eventually we can do even better.
