Ahead of the study day, I took some time to reflect on our journey together so far...revisiting the course objective of 'Explore our calling to be part of the people of God living out our faith everyday, wherever we are' and what I've learnt so far on this journey...because it is a journey we are on as we explore our faith, and one where we don't have all of the answers, and will never have. As a logical person, I expect to know the answers but I don't and that has often troubled me. But, the quote from Raine Maria Rilke left a big impression on me - "Live the Questions now" - switches it around for me somewhat, in a positive way.
It was so helpful to read all of the case studies, and to identify the common themes that many had - listening to god about ones calling (which comes in many different forms - more on that in a later post), it isn't always easy, realisation of some form of restlessness, building upon your passions and strengths, you will make mistakes...the challenge I think we all had was trying to find the differences, but maybe that is the point, there aren't that many when people describe their calling and vocation.
