Discipleship is very much reflected in our Church. As soon as you enter Church you have a lovely warm welcome from someone who smiles at you with meaning.
Who cuts the grass and looks after the church yard surrounding? if there is no rain who is watering the plants, tidying the litter, recycling the rubbish?
Going back to inside the church.... someone's is helping maintain it, keeping it clean. Meetings are organised and the rotas for readers ,cleaners, bell ringers, serving drinks etc the list must be longer.
Fundraiser events takes alot of organising and people to do this.
The church programmes the lighting ,heating locking up and unlocking.
wardens do give alot of there time to church life, but it is a group of people together who make the church run then the people attending help spread the word and hopefully want to join in the whole of the church as disciples.
we are all disciples of God and reflecting on our church where we are part of a whole family of disciples are we doing enough to be a follower of Jesus.
I can see ways discipleship is reflected in church.
All these people involved give there time to make sure these jobs are done. I feel like i've only scratched the surface involving what the Church people do and of course the vicars also.
Dr.Sri's wife is a example to us all, she plans her prayer time the night before so she is ready for God in the morning. Finding the time is always my issue with having a 3 year old who wants all my attention and working 45 hours a week... but god is worth it and I am going to keep on finding the time and making my commitment to god my goal.
Thank you for sharing this discription of discipleship in your church. It feels warm and vibrant. there is very little going on in my church at the moment as we have some building issues to contend with, and we are a very small group. This is where I would like us to be.
